SBI General Insurance Appoints Mohd. Arif Khan as Deputy CEO to Boost Growth and Innovation

SBI General Insurance has appointed Mohd. Arif Khan as its new Deputy Chief Executive Officer, a strategic move aimed at driving digital transformation, product innovation, and growth in India’s competitive general insurance sector.
Khan, a veteran of the State Bank of India (SBI) with over 25 years of experience, brings a deep understanding of retail banking, digital systems, operational strategy, and risk management. He began his career with SBI in 2000 as a Probationary Officer and has held multiple leadership roles across retail banking, training, and technology implementation. Most recently, he served as General Manager, Network-I, at SBI’s Local Head Office in Thiruvananthapuram.

An alumnus with a postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Khan also holds certifications from ISACA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), IIBF (Advanced Wealth Management), and RMAI (Risk Management). These academic and professional credentials complement his extensive practical experience.
In his new role, Khan will work closely with Managing Director and CEO Naveen Chandra Jha to accelerate SBI General’s strategic initiatives. His priorities will include expanding the company’s reach in underserved markets, enhancing operational efficiency, and leading digital-first insurance innovations.
