Aspora, the cross border fintech platform earlier known as Vance, has appointed former Paytm senior executive Varun Sridhar as the chief executive officer for its wealth management and lending division. The company announced the leadership addition through an official LinkedIn update.
Sridhar brings more than two decades of experience across financial services, retail banking and digital wealth platforms. At Paytm Money and Paytm Services, he led the business from launch to profitability and contributed to shaping Paytm’s operating model during its pre IPO phase. He stepped down from Paytm Services in August this year.
His career also includes leadership roles at BNP Paribas, Citibank and Deutsche Bank, where he worked across retail and wealth products in multiple global markets.

At Aspora, Sridhar will focus on scaling the company’s wealth and lending businesses and deepening its cross border banking infrastructure as the platform expands globally.
Founded in 2022 by Parth Garg, Aspora was part of Y Combinator’s Winter 2022 cohort and recently completed a rebranding exercise. The company currently serves customers across the US, UK, UAE, Germany, Italy and Ireland. Expansion plans include Saudi Arabia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada and Singapore.

Aspora raised 53 million dollars in a Series B round in June led by Sequoia and Greylock. The company has secured more than 99 million dollars in funding so far.
